What is happening?
The Kaderwet is intended to reshape parts of the legal framework governing healthcare professionals. For dentists, the concern is not simply that legislation is changing; it is how the impact of those changes is assessed before they become part of everyday practice. VVT says dentists represented around 10% of all consultation submissions on the draft, making them one of the most active professional groups. In June, VVT and other professional organisations formally challenged the way the Belgian State had carried out the required proportionality assessment. The cabinet responded on 4 August, but VVT said the reply did not remove its concerns.
